I lived through Hurricane Alicia in Houston, TX, 1983, and Hurricane Floyd in New Jersey, 1999. I also drove to Chicago in a blizzard for half of the trip, only to drive back to New Jersey a week later in an ice storm for half of the trip. Tornados at Pennsic also come to mind.
2. There are a series of hurricanes heading towards the continental US right now. Authorities have issued mandatory evacuations for several areas, yet some people are refusing to budge. Do you think it is right that the police are allowed to make arrests in this case? Do you think you should be allowed to stay with your property?
Do I think people should be allowed to stay? Yes. Do I think it is a good decision? No. If they aren't smart enough to understand the gravity of their situation, then get 'em out of the gene pool.
3. "Poaching" has been described as the act of intentionally pursuing an individual in an already committed relationship. Have you ever poached?Would you ever poach?
I have in the past, but never after anyone who was legally married. I will never do it again. For any reason.
4. Who should be blamed? (The person who poaches (home wrecker)? Or the mate who strays?)
Both are to blame. But I'd say the mate who strays causes more damage since they have more to lose.
5. Are certain people "fair weather friends" ? Or deep down, are we all fair weather friends to someone in our lives?
I expect everyone has been a "fair weather friend" to someone at some point in their life. But I also think that there are people who are hardly ever anything more than "fair weather friends" to anyone.

What's the furthest place from your home that you've ever driven to? Taking more than one trip/day to get there counts.
Recently, my long drives have been a drive home. Drove back from Tampa, FL last year (took about 20 hours over two days, shared driving with Michele). Before that, I drove my sister back to NJ from Lubbock, TX, about 5 years ago. That trip took 30 hours over three days, and she and I shared the driving.
What's the longest commute you've ever had for a job?
Longest time-wise was a 2 hour 10 minute commute by train into NYC. Mileage-wise was the same commute by car at about 48 miles each way, travel time was just over an hour.
Ever taken a long-distance trip on a train? Like with a dining car and everything?
I guess that 2 hour commute doesn't count, so no I never have.
Which airport that you've been to do you consider the best? Rate them on amenities, style, whatever.
I was pretty impressed with Tampa Intl (or whatever it's called), but I didn't spend much time there. I think all NYC area airports suck (Newark, La Guardia, JFK).
What was your first car?
A blue 1979 Ford Thunderbird, with a tan landau roof. This was the last car I owned that I could sleep on the seats, although I could probably sleep on the floor of the minivan.
