WooHooo!!!!!

According to The Digital Bits:

"Universal is releasing on 5/10 Dune: Extended Edition.

The Dune: Extended Edition will be released in a metal snap case (SRP $27.98). 2 versions of the film will be included... a 137-minute theatrical version, and the 177-minute extended edition. BOTH will be available in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen (which would mark the first time the extended edition was available in widescreen). The theatrical edition will feature both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 audio, while the extended edition will be Dolby Digital 5.1 only. Extras will include never before seen "behind-the-scenes" footage, documentaries on the special effects, visual design and costumes, deleted scenes, original photographs and artwork from the set (newly resurrected from personal collections) and more. NICE. We are SO pumped for this title here at The Bits. We've been waiting a LONG time for it."

I am sooooo psyched about this. This movie was my introduction to one of the most imaginative worlds I've ever read about. And while it deviates from Frank Herbert's books quite a bit, it's dream-like quality and vision of prophecy have always pulled me right in. I've been waiting 6 years for an anamorphic DVD release to replace my aging laserdisc copy.

Now if they would just release an anamorphic DVD of Flash Gordon.

(you realize we can have this conversation for hours, right?)

The mp3 player replied to this one(reaqlly, precisely as I saw your reply). Figure we'll expand this a bit...

"There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game.
It's easy.

Nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time.
It's easy.

All you need is love.
All you need is love.
All you need is love, love.

Love is all you need."
